It is the goal of RetireSafe.org to protect the privacy of our supporters while at the same time advancing our mission.
- Each visit to our web page automatically generates log files on our web server. These log files are used to compile periodic usage reports that we analyze in order to improve our site. Our reports are not shared with outside parties. Where possible, the log files contain the visitor’s Internet Protocol address (IP address) and the state and city of the domain being used (in North America only), as well as the country (also based on the domain of registration). Other statistics, such as the average amount of time visitors spend on each page, the most used pages, the most active organizations or companies, etc., are tracked in aggregate form.
- Our web site may write small lines of text (called "cookies") to the visitor’s computer in the background of the visit. These are commonly used to support functions such as persistent password storage. Our cookies do no harm to computers. We do not use cookies to gather information for any purpose other than to improve the quality of our web-based communications.
- As part of our web site, RetireSafe.org invites visitors to sign up to receive our email updates and notices, based on indicated areas of interest. We honor requests for in-house suppression to stop receiving communications from our organization.
- If a visitor has signed up for email in the past, but does not want to receive email from RetireSafe.org in the future, he/she should let us know by sending email to us at the address below, or calling us at the telephone number below, or writing to us at the address below and stating that further receipt of email from RetireSafe.org is not desired.
- Our web site will routinely inform visitors with notice of their ability to opt-out of receiving information from RetireSafe.org.
- If a visitor supplies us with his/her postal address on-line he/she may receive periodic mailings from us with information on issues or events of interest. If a visitor does not wish to receive such mailings, please let us know by sending email to us or writing to us. When doing so, please provide us with the exact name and address. We will be sure the name is removed from the list we may occasionally share with other organizations.
